The Compás is a space of time that is divided into parts or pulses of equal duration.
THE MAIN COMPASSES ARE:
– Binary (which are divided into two parts or pulses of equal duration)
– Ternaries (which are divided into three parts or pulses of equal duration)
– Quaternary (which are divided into four parts or pulses of equal duration)
The bars in the study of musical language and orchestra conductors, are marked or measured
with the right arm.
BINARY MEASURES: The first part or downbeat (strong part of the measure) and the
second part or pulse up (weak part of the measure)
TERNARY MEASURES: The first part or pulse is marked down (strong part) the second part or
pulse right and third or pulse up (both parts weak)
QUATERNARY COMPASSES : The first part is marked or pulse down (strong part) the second part. Or pulse to the left (weak part) the third part or pulse to the right (semi-strong part) and the fourth part or pulse up (semi-weak part).

A large number and variety of time signatures are derived from these basic or main time signatures.
whose multiple forms of rhythmic combinations enrich the rhythms, melodies and harmonies
musicals.
All human beings are endowed with some combination of internal rhythm that leads us
to move to a song or melody that we hear. Our heart moves in a binary rhythm
(systole and diastole) constantly and equally. A rhythmic unevenness in the movements of
our main and most important muscle, would produce an arrhythmia that is not recommended for
our heart health.
